Routes to Market for Grassroots Hospitality Talent.

Good people building great hospitality businesses deserve better opportunities.

Hospitality sits at the heart of every great city. Few industries play a bigger role in the social and cultural life of a community. Almost all UK hospitality businesses are independently owned, yet it has become increasingly difficult for them to access regular opportunities, build an audience and generate sustainable revenue.

Having built our own hospitality business over the past five years, we've experienced these challenges first hand while uncovering some of London's most talented underrepresented hospitality businesses. We exist to connect exceptional new and small scale hospitality talent with routes to market, in turn providing best in class experiences and events for our guests.

Passionate about the people, the stories, and the power of hospitality to bring us together.

Case Study: Smoulder & Spice

‘Joining The Market Network has been an important part of the journey for Smoulder & Spice. As a new food business, having a platform where we could get in front of real customers, test the concept and start building a following gave us the opportunity to turn an idea into something tangible.

Our first trading day was at Wapping Market at the beginning of the year, and it gave us a brilliant environment to introduce Smoulder & Spice to people for the first time. Since then, The Market Network has given us a genuine route to market and a platform to start building the business from the ground up.

Will and Fabi have been incredibly supportive throughout. They understand what it takes for independent food businesses to get started and have created opportunities for traders to focus on their food, meet customers and develop their businesses in a supportive, well-run environment.

For anyone with a great food concept looking for that first opportunity to get it out into the world, The Market Network is the place to start.’

Case Study: Twisted Kombucha

"I've been part of The Market Network since its earliest days in Wapping, and it's remained an important part of my business ever since. The market is a place where I can test new ideas, learn directly from customers and build genuine relationships with people who value traditionally fermented food and drink. Many of the people I first met through the market have gone on to become loyal customers and monthly subscribers.

The workshops are a natural extension of their mission. As a small independent brewery, there are only so many bottles of kombucha I can produce, but workshops allow me to share the knowledge behind the craft itself. They create a completely different way of connecting with people while giving them the confidence to brew kombucha at home and understand the science and tradition behind fermentation.

That's what makes The Market Network different. It's not just about creating opportunities to sell products, it's about creating opportunities to share knowledge, tell stories and build lasting relationships with customers."
